A Review After the First Month

We installed the VentPro HEPA-500 in our automotive paint booth about five weeks ago. The previous setup used a standard exhaust fan with no filtration, which meant we were pulling solvent vapors and overspray directly outside without any capture. That worked for basic compliance, but the local air quality board started flagging our discharge readings.

The HEPA-500 sits on the floor near the booth entrance. It draws air through a pre-filter and then through the H14 stage before exhausting back into the shop. We run it continuously during spray cycles and for thirty minutes after. The digital display shows filter load percentage, and after the first month the pre-filter is at 22% and the H14 at 8%. That matches the manual's estimate for our usage pattern.

What I noticed immediately was the reduction in visible haze inside the booth. Before, there was always a fine mist hanging in the air after a job. Now the air clears within a few minutes. The unit is rated for 500 CFM, which is enough for our 12x20 booth. It draws about 4 amps on high speed, so we run it off a dedicated 15-amp circuit without any issues.

The noise level is noticeable but not disruptive. At high speed it measures around 62 dB from three feet away. We wear hearing protection anyway, so it's not a problem. The casters lock well, and the steel housing has taken a few bumps from moving equipment around it without denting.

One thing I'd mention to anyone considering this unit: the filter replacement cost. The H14 filter runs about $180 CAD, and the pre-filter is $45. Based on our current load, we'll replace the pre-filter every three months and the H14 annually. That's reasonable for the level of protection it provides. The manual includes a log sheet for tracking filter changes, which helps with our internal audit documentation.

Overall, the unit does what it says. It filters the air, it's built solidly, and the compliance paperwork was straightforward. I'd buy it again for the same application.

Why We Exist

We exist to make industrial ventilation compliance straightforward and reliable. Every piece of hardware we supply must meet the Canada Labour Code Part II standards, and every certification we provide must hold up under inspection. Our purpose is to reduce the gap between regulation and real-world installation.

Code-First Engineering Every product we stock is selected for its ability to meet or exceed CSA, ATEX, or IECEx requirements. We do not sell equipment that relies on workarounds or waivers.

Transparent Certification Each unit ships with a verifiable compliance certificate. We maintain a digital archive of test reports and standards references so your documentation is always audit-ready.

Field-Ready Support Our team includes engineers who have worked on commercial ventilation systems in refineries, hospitals, and grain terminals. When you call, you get someone who understands the difference between a Class I Div 1 and a Zone 2 environment.

Measurable Impact Clients using our ventilation hardware report an average 40% reduction in air particulate levels during renovation projects and a clear path to passing Labour Canada inspections on the first attempt.
